In Phuket's Old Town center you will find Thalang Road. This is known as the business core of Phuket's. There are loads of fascinating shops selling exotic merchandise. Among the most popular are the Chinese herbal medicines and handmade crafts. Also located not far from Thalang Road is Soi Romani, an intriguing little lane that has an even more interesting past. In fact, the name can be roughly translated in Thai to 'naughty with the ladies,' and this area was once a red-light district for the many Chinese laborers who came to work the tin mines.
